Prior to YCB The Quality Council of India (QCI) under Ministry of AYUSH was established to develop a Scheme for Voluntary Certification of Yoga Professionals in the year 2015. In response to QCI, Shri Ambika Yoga Kutir (SAYK) initiated the process for getting an accreditation of Yoga School from QCI, under AYUSH Ministry, Govt. of India in the year 2016. After conducting two Audits by QCI, SAYK received recognition as “Yoga School” with effect from 29th April 2017 vide a Certificate No.QCI/TQC/YS000006 issued by the QCI under Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India.
SAYK thought of introducing QCI syllabus to its Yoga Teachers. Accordingly a syllabus for “Knowledge Enhancement Program” (KEP) was framed by curtailing some topics which were already taught in 2 years Pranayam Course (Hathayoga Pranit Pramanpatra Exam.) of SAYK. In framing the KEP syllabus Dr. Raghunandan Athalye and Prof.(Smt.) Neelima Shastri played pivotal role. The new course known as KEP of 4 months duration was conducted. The Pranayam Examination of SAYK passed students were made eligible to take admission for KEP and 167 students took admission. The KEP course started on 20th August 2016 and was completed on 24th December 2016. For 1st lecture of KEP a visiting faculty Prof.(Mrs) Swati Bhalerao, HOD of Sanskrit from Joshi-Bedekar College, Thane delivered a lecture on Vedas.
