The AYUSH Ministry, Government of India, Established, Yoga Certification Board, (YCB) From June 2018. After conducting Audits by YCB, SAYK has been accredited On 19th August 2019 as “Leading Yoga Institute” vide Certificate No.YCB/19/LY/000009. The aim of Yoga Certification Board (YCB) is to bring quality and standards in practice of Yoga and to promote Yoga as Career Skill.

Prior to YCB The Quality Council of India (QCI) under Ministry of AYUSH was established to develop a Scheme for Voluntary Certification of Yoga Professionals in the year 2015. In response to QCI, Shri Ambika Yoga Kutir (SAYK) initiated the process for getting an accreditation of Yoga School from QCI, under AYUSH Ministry, Govt. of India in the year 2016. After conducting two Audits by QCI, SAYK received recognition as “Yoga School” with effect from 29th April 2017 vide a Certificate No.QCI/TQC/YS000006 issued by the QCI under Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India.

SAYK thought of introducing QCI syllabus to its Yoga Teachers. Accordingly a syllabus for “Knowledge Enhancement Program” (KEP) was framed by curtailing some topics which were already taught in 2 years Pranayam Course (Hathayoga Pranit Pramanpatra Exam.) of SAYK. In framing the KEP syllabus Dr. Raghunandan Athalye and Prof.(Smt.) Neelima Shastri played pivotal role. The new course known as KEP of 4 months duration was conducted. The Pranayam Examination of SAYK passed students were made eligible to take admission for KEP and 167 students took admission. The KEP course started on 20th August 2016 and was completed on 24th December 2016. For 1st lecture of KEP a visiting faculty Prof.(Mrs) Swati Bhalerao, HOD of Sanskrit from Joshi-Bedekar College, Thane delivered a lecture on Vedas.

SAYK acknowledges the contribution and expresses its gratitude towards its Senior and learned Yoga Teachers, because they prepared suitable syllabus, guided, and motivated the first batch of QCI.

SAYK Started

  1. Knowledge Enhancement Programme (KEP) it was made eligible for Pranayam Exam. Passed yoga teachers of SAYK. Lecture/Practical – Every Saturday 03.30 to 06.30 pm (3 hrs.) Course was started on 20th August 2016 and completed in 24th December 2016.
  2. First Audit of SAYK for Yoga School accreditation was conducted by QCI on 14th January 2017.
  3. In between QCI’s Level 1-Yoga Instructor Course was started.
  4. Second Audit was conducted on 29th April 2017.
  5. SAYK recognized as Yoga School from 29th April 2017 vide Certificate No.QCI/TQC/YS000006.
  6. In the month of February 2018 Exams. conducted for:
    • Level 1 (Yoga Instructor) – 56.25% passed.
    • Level 2 (Yoga Teacher) – 47.62% passed.
  7. Till March 2019 - 4 exams of QCI were conducted – Total 68 passed Level 2 (Yoga Teacher) & 23 passed Level 1 (Yoga Instructor).
    At the time of QCI, SAYK was supposed to conduct Practical Examination of 100 marks with 70% passing marks. Once the student passes in practical he becomes eligible to appear for Theory For Level 1 it was of 60 marks and for Level 2 it was of 80 marks.
    Passing percentage was 70% in Theory.
    If student passes in both he turns out to be successful professional and was getting a certificate from QCI under AYUSH Ministry Govt. of India.
  8. From June 2018, Yoga Certification Board (YCB) was established under the guidance of Morarji Desai National Institute of Yoga, Ministry of AYUSH, Govt. of India.

  13. 9th November 2019 – First YCB Exam of Yoga Wellness Instructor (YWI) was conducted by SAYK. 22 students passed and became YWI (Yoga professionals).
  14. 11th January 2020 – Joint examination of YPI & YWI was conducted and 39 students passed YPI and 5 students passed YWI.
    These examinations were offline exam.
  15. ONLINE EXAMS: During Covid-19 Pandemic

  16. 12th and 13th September 2020 for YPI exam were conducted as number of students was large & it was 1st ONLINE Exam, so two days were required for exam. One day for Theory and another for Practical.
    Total percentage of passed students was 77.42%.
  17. 31st October 2020 – ONLINE exam another batch of 23 YPI (Yoga Protocol Instructor) students appeared, percentage of passed students was 69.56%.
  18. 22nd November 2020 – ONLINE exam YWI (Yoga Wellness Instructor) - percentage of passed students was 94.74%.
  19. 23rd January 2021 – OFFLINE exam YT&E (Yoga Teacher and Evaluator) was conducted. Percentage of passed students was 87.5%.
  20. 15th May 2021 – ONLINE exam of YWI (Yoga Wellness Instructor) was conducted - percentage of passed students was 92.30%.
  21. 10th October 2020 Annual Report sent to YCB.

SAYK for the guidance of students published a book named as “Yoga Deep” Bilingual Question Bank for Yoga Professionals in 2018 - It proved to be very useful for QCI Level 1 (Yoga Instructor), Level 2 (Yoga Teacher) and also for YCB students.
